Abstract;A molecularly imprinted polymer was synthesized by using allyl phenyl disulfide as a template monomer. The synthesis procedure is showed in Fig. 1. The disulfide bonds of the resulting polymer were reductively cleaved to give the imprinted polymer having thiol groups in the binding sites. We synthesized imprinted polymer and blank polymer. The preparation recipe is showed in table. 1. Various compounds were examined for evaluation of the imprinted polymers and we found that the polymer selectively recognized phenolic compounds. The results are shown in table. 2. In the polymers, the binding sites are formed properly by the use of the template covalently bound by the functional monomer through disulfide bond. In general, it is difficult to prepare molecularly imprinted polymers for small molecules such as phenol. Therefore, our imprinting system could provide a new strategy for imprinting small molecules.
