Abstract;Seventy pediatric patients with Epstein-Barr virus(EBV)-induced infectious mononucleosis(IM) were separated into three age groups (less than three years, three-five years, and six-15 years). Duration of fever was longer in the older age group. Eruption and eyelids edema were more often detected in the younger age group. The leukocyte count was higher in the younger age group. The serum transaminase levels were higher in the older age group. The serum LDH levels were high in all age groups. The youger age group had lower viral capsid antigen specific IgM antibody titer. Thus, careful clinical and laboratoy evaluation of children considering age will further increase the accuracy of diagnosis of EB virus-induced infectious mononucleosis. (author abst.)
