Abstract; This paper, first, introduces two function of a distributed omnidirectional vision system using many omnidirectional cameras: one is real-time tracking of multiple humans in a wide environment and the other is location and location -free gesture recognition implemented in the same system. Then, it discusses on a next-generation information infrastructure realized by the system. The next-generation information infrastructure recognizes human behaviors and supports human activities based on the recognition. That is, it will be an intelligent information infrastructure.
