Abstract;The characteristics, application, and attention in the installation of the ultrasonic flowmeter US300 series (made by Yokogawa Electric) were described. Both of the fixed type and portable types employs the same signal processing system, and have features of improvement in easy installation and bubble-proof, high-temperature use and easy data collection by ultrasonic sensor. Following cautionary note in the installation were explained: confirmation of the installation conditions (straight pipe length, stability of the flow, decrease of the turbulence of the flow distribution, inner surface condition of the pipe, preliminary survey by the portable type).
