| Abstract; To evaluate the optimal dosage of digoxin in Japanese, we monitored serum digoxin concentrations and calculated their pharmacokinetic parameters in about 600 inpatients who were administered maintenance digoxin therapy. And the content variations were measured when the three commercial 0.25-mg-digoxin tablets were divided two halves. The following results were obtained; Dose requirement for almost patients were below about 0.25mg/day and their digoxin concentrations were able to maintain by administration of 0.125mg daily within therapeutic range. And it was difficult to divide the tablets with exactitude. These results suggested the necessity for digoxin 0.125mg-tablets is very considerably higher in clinical practice. (author abst.) |
