| Abstract;High-Pressure synthesis of B-S binary compounds were performed. New compound, B6S was obtained at 5 GPa and 1400.DEG.C.. X-ray powder diffraction data was used to deduce the cell parameters and space group of B6S using program ITO. B6S has a orthorhombic unit cell with a=0.8117, b=1.0620, c=0.5843 nm and possible space groups of Pnn2 or Pnnm. From the diffuse reflectance spectrum of B6S, the band gap of B6S was estimated to be 4.1 eV. It is the highest value in high-pressure phases of binary B-S compounds. (author abst.) |
