| Abstract;The chemical properties of elements 104 through 108 are reviewed. The experimental techniques are introduced, and we also comment on accompanying theoretical work using relativistic molecular-orbital codes. It is found that elements 104-108 are members of groups 4-8 in the Periodic Table but that their detailed properties often deviate from simple extrapolations within the groups. (author abst.) |
