Abstract;Shock compression and rapid quenching (SCARQ) technique was applied to Kish graphite and C60 to investigate the pathway of phase transition under shock compression. Almost shocked Kish graphite up to 30-75 GPa showed Raman G and D peaks of graphite. But some part of these samples gave visible photoluminescence. A part of shocked Kish graphite up to 48 GPa showed new Raman peak around 1400 cm-1. This fact suggested the presence of new phase of carbon. Shocked C60 up to 23 GPa showed broad Raman peak around 1000-1500 cm-1 and visible photoluminescence simultaneously. (author abst.)
