| Abstract; We have performed neutron powder diffraction experiments of tetrahydrofuran (THF), acetone, xenon, and carbon dioxide clathrate hydrates (deuterated samples). The Rietveld analyses on these data revealed that THF and acetone molecules preferably orient along the 4-fold rotatory inversion axes in the hexakaidecahedral cages of the host lattice. Strong guest-host coupling was found in the temperature dependence of the lattice constants and temperature factors of xenon and carbon dioxide clathrate hydrates. (author abst.) |
