Abstract;The absorption edge of MnO has been measured up to 91.5 GPa using DAC in the range of 0.1-3.2 eV at room temperature.At about 75 GPa a change from a direct band gap to an indirect band gap has been found.The pressure coefficient of the two gaps are -13.+-.1.4 to-66.+-.14 meV/GPa,respectively.
