Abstract;Photoluminescence measurements were conducted in a CdTe/CdMnTe(Mn=40%) quantum well under pressures to 0.49 GPa and magnetic fields to 60 T at 4 K. Excitonic emission from the barrier layer, which was not observed at zero field, appeared around 9.5 T and increased its intensity with increasing magnetic fields. Anomalous red shift of the exciton energy was recognized below 36 T. At 0.49 GPa, the onset field of the emission was increased to about 44 T. These phenomena are thought to be related to energy transfer from excitons to the Mn 3d electron system, suppressed and induced by the application of pressures and magnetic fields, respectively.
