Abstract;RT-Linux is a hard real-time operating system that coexists with the Linux OS. In this paper, a new embedded insulation on-line monitoring system based on RT-Linux is presented and discussed. The system is composed of two parts: the data acquisition module and the kernel module. There are two sub modules in the kernel. One is a real-time data module, the other one, which serves as a cron module, is in charge of communicating with the remote client and managing the data transmission. A browser is also developed by which remote control and real-time observation can be implemented. (author abst.)
