Abstract;Properties of fragment mass and total kinetic energy (TKE) distributions in a wide range of actinide fission have been systematically investigated. A new empirical formula describing the fragment mass and TKE distributions in various fissioning systems is derived by using the following three parameters; mass and atomic numbers (A,Z), and excitation energy of a compound nucleus (Eex).
