Abstract; In order to study the correlation between the asymmetric mass distribution and the shell structure of fission fragments, the fragment mass and energy distributions in the proton-induced fission of 233,235,238U and 239,242,244Pu were accurately measured using the double time-of-flight method. It was found that the heavier asymmetric mass distribution shifted to heavier mass number with the fissioning nucleus mass number. (author abst.)
