Abstract;A few example of photoreaction of stannylene has been reported, and in all cases bond cleaveage between tin and substituent occurred by irradiation. We designed photoreaction of stannylene with bulkyl terphenyl group and weaktin-germanium bond to generate long-lived monovalent tin species selectively. Indeed photoreaction of stable arylgermylstannylene generates a thermally stable tin radical which has a very small hyperfine coupling with tin. Considering of this small coupling with tin and no coupling with germanium, the tin radical was assigned to tristannacyclopropenyl. (author abst.)
