Abstract; We report herein the first successful example of diastereoselective addition of alcohols to diastereotopic silylenes. Usually, the selective addition of alcohols to the silylene takes place from the less hindered face. However, the stereoselectivity of addition of alcohol to a silylene with an ethereal substituent is found to occur in the reverse manner. (author abst.)
