Abstract; This paper has investigated a reality transmission in a tele-education system. In our research, the importance of a real experience based education should be put a stress on. In line with the assertion, we have proposed a reality transmission based tele-education system and investigated its requirements such as (i) a reality transmission function, (ii) a bilateral information transmission, (iii) an independence of time and place. In order to investigate what kind of information should be transmitted for the tele-education system, two types of simple tele-education system for learning a chatter vibration have been developed. One is based on a cutting simulator and the other is based on video presentation at a multimedia cockpit. Tele-education experiments conducted in this paper have suggested that a positive learning function of the simulator, a multi-information display function of the video system and the sensory information display function of the specially developed interface should be integrated.
