Abstract; We are developing a system that supports remote instruction on medical operations. A local operator wears an HMD that shows stereoscopic views. An operator can see the real world through a pair of video cameras that are mounted on an HMD. Voice channel can be used for verbal communication and a remote instructor's hand gestures are superimposed on an operator's view. Experiment showed that superimposed gestures were effective for giving instructions efficiently. However, operator's head motion makes the superimposed hand point at wrong position. To alleviate this problem, position of superimposed gesture is moved to a correct place corresponding to an operator's head position. (author abst.)
