| Abstract;The robots that work and move on uneven terrain need a map which shows neighbouring terrain information. However, creating map with the sensor on a mobile robot involves some problems. One of them is with invisible areas in the map. To overcome this problem, we have been proposing some ideas about one interpolation method for invisible areas which uses terrain database. In this paper, the important techniques for creating practical terrain database-representations suitable for terrain database, algorithms to match and compare observed terrain with known terrain-, and the results of a matching simulation are shown.
