| Abstract;A case (60-year-old woman) of hamartomatous lipoma of the thyroid gland observed during the parathyroidal hyperplasia extraction conducted according to diagnosis of secondary hyperparathyroidism is reported. From the pathohistological findings, the fat cells were S-100 protein positive by immunohistochemistry, and the follicular cells were thyroglobulin antibody positive. Fat tissues in this case are likely to be developed by hamartoma due to the proliferation of the aberrant ectopic remnant fat tissues at the thyroid gland developmental stage in the embryonic period. |
