| Abstract;The launch of JABEE in the end of 1999 caused a turning point for the most Japanese university departments relevant to the engineering education. Hereafter, highly qualified engineers with the global standards will certainly be produced in various fields of engineers including the chemistry field. The Chemical Society of Japan, in collaboration with the related Societies such as the Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan and the Society of Polymer Science, Japan, has worked out the new program criteria for the field of "chemistry and the related area", which meet for the practical side of the academic culture of this country. Following the launch of JABEE, the council for the PDE, Professional Development of Engineers, has been organized to cope with the continuing professional development. (author abst.) |
