| Abstract;The inverse relationship between concentration of plasma HDL particles and the risk for premature atherosclerosis is well established, but the detail mechanism on the production of HDL particles is not understood completely. However, recent investigation reveals that some important molecules, such as ABC transporters and NPC1, are crucial in the process of subcellular lipid transport and formation of HDL particle with apolipoproteins. Regulation of these factors might be new therapeutic target to reduce the risk of premature atherosclerosis. (author abst.) |
