| Abstract;In the periodic limbs paralysis (PP) as a representative channel abnormal disease, the erethismic of skeletal muscle fiber (cell) itself is hindered in the transience, and the weakness occurs in the muscle group of limbs and trunk except for the face. It begins at the leg proximal muscle generally, and gradually develops from distal muscle of pupil to the arm. The paralysis is flaccid, and appears in transient, and continues from several hours to a few days. The blood electrolyte is measured immediately, when this disease was suspected from features of the PP, and inducement of fit, family history, medical history, etc. are asked. In Japan, about the half of PP is generated in the juvenile adult men after the puberty accompanied with the hyperthyroidism, and special consideration is necessary. The symptoms of the periodic limbs paralysis were summarized in the table. And, basic examination necessary for the clinical diagnosis was introduced. |
