| Abstract;The mediastinal tumor is the neoplastic lesion which arises in the mediastinum region, however, generally the tumor which arises primarily in organs such as heart, great vessel, trachea, gullet is not called a mediastinal tumor. In the top and anterior mediastinum, it is the predilection place of the goiter, malignant lymphoma, teratoma, thymoma. In the middle mediastinum, it is the predilection place of malignant lymphoma, and in the posterior mediastinum, it is the predilection place of the neurogenic tumor. The matters to be noticed in the examination for the definite diagnosis of the mediastinal tumor are as follows : First, the differentiation of the cystic lesion and the neoplastic lesion and second, the differentiation by the occupation position of the neoplastic lesion. The differential diagnosis can be proceeded in the following flow based on this point : 1) Diagnosis of property and occupation position of mediastinal tumor, 2) Differential diagnosis of cystic disease, 3) Differential diagnosis of the top and anterior mediastinum tumor, 4) Differential diagnosis of the posterior mediastinum tumor. |
