Abstract; When acute myocardinal infarction (AMI) is contracted, the 30 - 40% of the patient die right after the crisis by the ventricular fibrillation, and about 10% of the patient who are transferred in the hospital die in the hospital. In the meantime, the cardiac function can be recovered to the normal condition, and vital prognosis and QOL are remarkably improved when the appropriate treatment is carried out in the early stage of the crisis. In this paper, the acute phase diagnosis and seriousness evaluation of AMI and diagnosis of complications which may be caused during the progress were explained. The purpose of the examination can be divided roughly into the following items : 1) Diagnosis of AMI and differential diagnosis, 2) Seriousness evaluation and grasp of disease state, 3) Grasp of complication, 4) Decision of therapy effect and follow-up. The complication of AMI is characterized by the time and site of infarction after the crisis and the complication is shown in the table. It is necessary to predict the complication that may be caused and take the quick countermeasures.
