| Abstract; The fluorine atom brings quite remarkable properties to the organic molecules containing it. It is involved in an extremely large, and varied, number of application areas in which products containing fluorine always enjoy more rapid growth than fluorine-free products. The limits to this growth in the use of fluorine are to be found in the technical and economic difficulties encountered when attempting to create fluorine compounds. Manufacturers specializing in fluorine are therefore confronted with the challenge of having to invent new, more effective technologies. The presentation will focus, in particular, on the new technologies allowing access to the following fluorinated groups: Ar-F, Ar-X-CFxC13-x. Used, above all, in the active ingredients used in the life sciences. New trifluoromethylation and perfluoroalkylation technology will also be resented. (author abst.) |
