Abstract;Various fluoro-organic compounds were successfully prepared by using hypervalent iodine fluorides such as ArlF2 and IF5 in the presence of HF-Base molten salt. The solution of ArlF2 generated electrochemical oxidative fluorination of ArI can be used a useful fluorination reagent of organic compounds. Fluoro-iodo-alkenyl-iodonium salts prepared stereo- and regio-selectively by the reaction of alkene with ArIF2 in HF-Base was a useful precursor for the stereo- and regio-selective synthesis of E-isomer of .ALPHA.-fluoro-alkenyl analog. On the contrary, IF5, which has hardly been employed in organic fluorination reagent because of its hazardousness, instability and highly aggressive properties, was successfully employed in HF-Base solution for the fluorination of various organic compounds. Active species of IF5/Et3-3HF and well-known reagent of NIS/HF-molten salt in the fluorination of organic compounds will be discussed comparatively in terms of reaction mechanism. (author abst.)
