Abstract;CYTOP, the polymer of perfluoro(3-butenyl vinyl ether)(BVE) invented by Asahi Glass Co., has excellent properties. This perfluorinated amorphous polymer is now used in various fields. But a conventional process for producing BVE has been economically disadvantageous since it requires multi steps and some of the raw materials are expensive.. We have already reported the synthesis of perfluoroacid fluoride using "PERFECT" process that is the abbreviation of PERFluorination of an Esterified Compound then Thermal elimination. It becomes possible to synthesize various acid fluorides with PERFECT process because main structure of the target fluorinated compounds can be synthesized by ordinary organic synthesis, though in conventional fluorine chemistry, it must be built up by the ordinary fluorinated building blocks such as tetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoropropene oxide, and so on. We applied "PERFECT" process to the synthesis of BVE. Various synthetic routes to precursors to BVB sith PERFECT process will also be discussed. (author abst.)
