| Abstract;After putting the barrier free low into operation, many escalators for wheelchairs were equipped in public space. However, in such escalator, the number of steps on which wheelchair can take is only one, and it takes a lot of time to bring the step to the entrance, and it needs an operator to use the step. When the step for wheelchair is used, other people can not use the escalator. Therefore, these escalators are not useful, and handicapped people feel not good. So, this study proposes a new escalator mechanism which use landing plate. In this escalator, a wheelchair is put on the landing plate, and other people can ride on together. This paper describes the mechanism of the landing plate and the new escalator. (author abst.) |
