| Abstract;Assisting rate of a power assist wheelchair is fixed, so more force is needed to go up slope than to go a flat place. Therefore, we propose a system which can change assist rate according to a slope angle. We used a slope sensor to measure a slope angle. A slant sensor and a signal from potentiometer of a hand rim are sent to a computer. Assist rate is calculated from the date of slope sensor, then assist torque is decided from the assist rate and the date of the potentiometer. As a result we were able to let an assist rate change.
