Abstract;For the control of residual vibration in positioning of mechanical systems, we propose an approach. In the approach, the input displacement curve of the system is described with a uniform B-spline curve and then the performance index value of the control of residual vibration is optimized with the Complex Method. The effectiveness of the approach is illustrated by examples. (author abst.)
