Abstract;Our company produces the main engine remote control system which is used for operation, from remote location, of diesel engine used for ship propulsion, This time, the above-shown main engine remote control system (of next generation), which was miniaturized and provided with additional new functions, was developed. This new remote control system has improved, because of its miniaturization, the degree of freedom for its layout, and also its maintainability. In addition, its expandability and reliability were improved, because the CAN (Controller Area Network) was adopted. Here, the principal units of this system, including the above-said CAN, are explained. The planned improvements in the future are also explained.
