| Abstract;In this paper, the above-shown brake equipment, which our company supplied, is explained. This brake equipment is a kind of electromotive spring type brake which does not use air at all, i.e. EBI (Electrical Brake Intelligence), and, because of its small size and light weight, enabled the design of a tramcar of ultra-low floor type. In addition, its safety is of high grade, because the energy for security brake is stored in each TBU at the end. Here, the outline of the above-said tramcar, the action of this brake equipment (service brake, emergency brake and security brake), system constitution of brake control/monitoring apparatus, and principal units of brake system, are explained. |
