| Abstract;In order to improve the safety and accuracy of transportation, and to satisfy the requirements posed by passengers, East Japan railway Co. has been developing new molels of electric car, one after anothor, by use of new technologies, such as IT, etc.. Recently, as an experimental car for future developments, the AC train (Advanced Commuter Train) of E993 type was developed. The brake equipment (regenerative-brake-combined electrically operated air brake) of this AC train was developed under cooperation with our company. Here, at first, the outline of AC train is explained, and then, the brake control (service brake, emergency brake, direct-working stand-by brake, etc.) and principal units of brake system, are explained. |
