Abstract;A quasi-Yagi antennas preparing a reflection panel behind dipole and a parasite element before the dipole for a radiation element of phased array antennas arranging radiation elements on a straight line, was applied, to optimize length of the parasite element minimizing gain reduction together with beam scanning, and distance by the parasite element and the dipole by using genetic algorithm. And, by applying the quasi-Yagi antennas to array antenna elements for comming direction estimation using partial array such as ESPRIT and so on, parameters making comming direction estimation precision to best were obtained by using genetic algorithm. Here were introduced by bases of computer simulation and evaluation results on trial products that array antennas with the quasi-Yagi antennas optimized by genetic algorithm for radiation elements were extremely improved when using them for phased array antennas, and their precision and resolution were upgraded when using them for comming direction estimation based on ESPRIT.
