| Abstract; As a searching system for distress resue at snowy mountain and so on, trial production and verification of wrist-watch type miniature radio oscillator (microwave beacon) and radio wave arriving direction finder applying ESPAR antenna were carried out. This system could extremely upgrade position precision (resolution) of searching by using microwave bands on comparison with those of the conventional systems. And, by not only upgrading of interference resistance using direct sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS), but also modifying algorithm of direction finder so as to enable direction finding even at short pulse, cell life of the microwave beacon could widely be extended. By a test at snowy area, it was confirmed that detection from a point distant from 600 m in maximum at see-through place and from 30 m was enable when burying a microwave beacon at a depth of 1 m under wet snow. |
