Abstract;Complete registry of childhood cancer is indispensable not only to grasping the realities of childhood cancer but also to improving cancer treatment and promoting measures against cancer. Information sources of childhood cancer in Osaka prefectural cancer registry were surveyed. The Osaka prefectural healthy welfare division, the Osaka prefectural medical association and the survey section of Osaka prefectural adult disease center are cooperating in Osaka prefectural cancer registry since 1962. According to the Osaka prefectural cancer registry, 1815 cases, diagnosed as childhood cancer at age of 15 during 1989-1998, were surveyed. The following were shown in table: 1) information sources of patients with childhood cancer, 2) main information sources of each group classified by diagnosis, 3) cumulative covering rate based on an information sources and the ratio of patients included only in the information source to the whole cancer patients, 4) the numbers of patients and facilities at an institution classified by the kind and scale, 5) the numbers of patients and facilities in view of the treatment numbers at medical institutions, 6) the numbers of patients classified by medical care(groups classified by diagnosis) at university hospitals.
