| Abstract;Case 1(a male infant of 11 years old) was pathohistologically diagnosed as pleuropulmoniary blastoma. Since extirpation of the tumor was considered to be difficult, chemotherapy was done as follows: 1 course of CDDP/VP-16 and 2 courses of ICE therapy(IFO/CBDCA/VP-16). However, reduction of the tumor was short-lived. Then specific high-dose chemotherapy(VP-16/Thiotepa/CY) in conjunction with autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation was done. AFP, though lowered transiently, increased soon with growth of tumor to result in death at the time of 6 months process. Cases 2(a female infant of 1 year old) received chemotherapy(VCR/Act-D/THP-ADR). When tumor reduced, open lung biopsy was done. The tumor had infiltrated into pleura and diaphragm. Though the 2nd course of the chemotherapy was started, there was no response to result in death at the time of 2 months process. |
