| Abstract;During 17 years since opening of our hospital, there were 13 cases with retroperitoneal teratoma, including 2 cases with oncological emergency. The one(a female infant of 3 months old) had the chief complaints of abdominal tumor and dyspnea to be suspected of right retroperitoneal teratoma. Operation after adjusting general condition was scheduled. However, since respiratory condition worsened, laparotomical tumor extirpation was conducted as emergency operation. After operation, there was complications of renovascular hypertension and atelectasis. She remained affected by hypoxemia acidosis under the worsened respiratory condition, still receiving medical care. The other(a male infant) had visited a neighboring doctor at age of 2 months after birth due to polypnea, cyanosis and hypothermia. Having left abdominal tumor detected with worsened respiratory condition, he received intubation and was immediately taken to our hospital. The circulatory collapse associated with shock and hypoxemia acidosis had caused acute renal failure, acute hepatic failure and acute heart failure. With general condition improving, laparotomical tumor extirpation was conducted on the 13th day after hospitalization. With blood pressure lowering, he was in good condition after operation. |
