| Abstract;We have developed iStorage S2200; a midrange disk array that provides high reliability, high performance, and high availability. This equipment improves throughput with the fibre channel interface supporting a speed of 2Gbps at both host and hard disk. This paper explains the 2Gbps fibre channel technology newly employed in the iStorage S2200 equipment and the RAID control LSI allowing RAID data generation and reconfiguration at high-speed and high-availability technology based on the third control pass to isolate a failed device connected with the FC-AL (Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop).
