| Abstract;mRNA in Escherichia coli is decomposed by cooperative actions of both endo- and exo-ribonucleases. During 30 years after Apirion first proposed this hypothesis, many endo- and exo-ribonucleases have been discovered. Among them, discoveries of RNase E, and degradosome are epoch making advance. However, mRNA degradative pathway is found more complicated than that considered in the begining, and its whole picture is not yet clear. This paper introduces knowledges obtained until now, and unmasks true face of endoribonuclease initiating mRNA decomposition. |
