Abstract; We report a case of gastric malignant lymphoma with arterial bleeding causing hematemesis and anemia, which demanded on emergency operation. A 66-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of hematemesis, melena and epigastralgia due to bleeding from the stomach. An emergency endoscopic examination showed a type 2 like gastric tumor with arterial bleeding in the body of the anterior wall. Total gastrectomy with D2 lymph node dissection and a splenectomy was performed in consequence of unsuccessful endoscopic clipping and progressive anemia (Hb, 7.9g/dl). The resected tumor measured 7.0 * 4.2cm in the body of the anterior wall and an even IIc like lesion in the lesser curvature. The pathological examination revealed gastric malignant lymphoma (diffuse large cell type, mp, nO (0/82)), with superficially exposed artery in the bleeding site. He progressed satisfactorily and was discharged from the hospital 15 days after the operation. There are some cases of gastric malignant lymphoma requiring emergency operations. (author abst.)
