| Abstract;The sound AGC method developed with an auto-select gain function selects a gain function (from multiple choices) and controls the sound volume by distinguishing between sound and no-sound intervals. The system has been applied to an amplifying voice communication system that collects transmitted sound signals in an environment with ambient noises, but can reproduce the signal with minimal deterioration of sound quality and appropriate volume by reducing the effects of ambient noises. The DSP-based operation evaluation shows the effectiveness of this system in a wide range of input sound levels and ambient noises. (author abst.) |
