| Abstract;For the purpose of achieving energy-saving control on air-conditioning and lighting in an office, a human distribution measurement system has been developed by combining wide-view image acquisition through a fisheye lens and video image processing based on edge images. Human detection from video images is achieved by comparing edge images between frames for detecting people in motion and those who are stationary in order to minimize the effect of environmental light variation. People at a halt are detected through pattern matching by using a template of a person's image captured just before stopping. The effectiveness of this system is demonstrated by using the measured result in an actual office. (author abst.) |
