Abstract; The developed distortion-correction software enables the stereoscopic presentation of wide field-of-view, distortion-free, life-size images on a semispherical surface. The visual display, named CyberDome, provides natural "images" that suit human visual characteristics. The software-based distortion-correction technology does not require an expensive special lens and the projector placement expressed in parameters enables projection on a dome screen of any size. A boundary blending function for images displayed by multiple projectors and a synchronized image display function by multiple PCs have been developed for an expanded model of this visual presentation system. The application of these technologies achieved the world largest "Shiodome CyberDome" where many people can experience bright and high-resolution images simultaneously. (author abst.)
