| Abstract;A high durability photo-catalytic coating material, having no optical effects on glass, was developed by combining a high silicon-content inorganic coating material with its end functional group denatured to an unsaturated bonding group, and titanium oxide particles with a particle size optimized for high resistance to damage. The developed material has been applied to the company's Tokyo headquarters building and other glass surfaces of various buildings to confirm the performance. When a photo-catalytic coating material is applied to glass surfaces, only a few cases satisfy the overall performance requirements of the photo-catalysis activity, appearance uniformity and damage resistance. A large variety of test cases have proven the excellent durability, optical and self-cleaning characteristics of the developed coating material. (author abst.) |
