Abstract; In order to increase the communication distance between the non-contact IC card and IC card reader/writer (R/W) built into a metal door, the R/W mount position was lifted from the metal surface and a thin magnetic yoke was placed in the back of the R/W antenna to achieve a 4.9 times increase in the communication distance compared with the distance before the improvement. The method was applied to the electric lock system of entrance doors and proved to be effective. It can be applied to a wide variety of other wireless device applications. (author abst.)
