| Abstract;This paper describes VICS (Vehicle Information and Communication System) and its services. There are explained a concept of ITS (intelligent transportation system) and position of the VICS in the ITS, together with a variety of systems and services having been developed or currently under development in other countries. Current conditions introduced and service mechanism applied in the VICS by the use of car navigation terminals are described. Additionally, as a future issue, next-generation VICS making use of ground wave digital broadcast is included. |
