Abstract; In eucaryotes, splicing of mRNA precursor is not only essential for protein synthesis, but also important process for diversifiing gene expression. Human genes are numbered 40,000 at most, but more than half of the genes are alternatively spliced, and the same genes form various kinds of proteins. It is also essential to pass through splicing for the processes after the splicing such as nuclear export and quality control of mRNA. In many hereditary diseases, mutations not only in spliced sites of genes, but also in exons often give damages on important sequences for splicing, and cause splicing abnormality.
