Abstract;Surprisingly high regeneration potency of planaria (Tricladida) is supported by stem cells which are considered to have differential totipotency and called neoplastic cells distributed its whole body. As one of characteristics of the neoplastic cells, existence of chromatoid bodies consisting of RNA and proteins in their cytoplasm is known. Recently isolated marker genes in planarias is clarifying behavior of neoplastic cells in their regeneration processes. This article introduces the regeneration system using neoplastic cells from Tricladida, and dicusses the role of chromatoid bodies in the neoplastic cells.
